iMR Lab at the Dickinson Image-Guided Intervention Center

(Company or Imricor) (ASX: IMR) is pleased to announce that Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego has become the first commercial U.S. hospital customer, marking the commencement of the company’s U.S. commercial launch of Imricor Cardiovascular. This milestone marks the start of broader U.S. adoption for hospitals seeking to bring radiation-free cardiac catheterization into the interventional magnetic resonance (iMR) lab while gaining the superior imaging advantages that MR provides.
With NorthStar® now commercially available in the United States, Rady Children’s is establishing the first commercial iMR cardiac catheterization program in the country. The program will bring MR-guided catheterization capabilities, reinforcing Rady Children’s commitment to advancing care for children with complex heart conditions. For pediatric patients who may require multiple cardiac procedures throughout their lives, performing these procedures in an iMR lab allows patients to avoid ionizing radiation while providing detailed anatomical, functional, and flow information during the procedure.
“MR guidance eliminates exposure to ionizing radiation for both patients and staff, while providing us with improved soft tissue differentiation and functional information that fluoroscopy can’t provide,” said Dr. Brent Gordon, Interventional Cardiologist at Rady Children’s Hospital.
For Rady Children’s, cardiac catheterization is the beginning, not the end. The hospital’s intention is to offer patients a fully radiation-free pathway across cardiac catheterization, diagnostic electrophysiology, and cardiac ablation.
